Abstract

This article aimed to investigate how Knowledge Management (KM) was being used within the Human Resources Development Department of the Federal University of Minas Gerais. For this, a questionnaire was applied to the active employees of the department. In view of the results, it was found that the analyzed department is at an initial KM maturity level, in accordance with the scale proposed by Batista (2012). In addition, it was found that most employees of the studied department claim to have knowledge about GC and about 30% claimed to have had some previous experience involving KM. Therefore, the proposed was achieved, providing an initial diagnosis about KM in the investigated department.

Dante Evangelista Miranda Filho, Federal University of Viçosa

He holds a degree in Information Systems from the Federal University of Lavras and a specialization in Strategic Business Management from the Newton Paiva University Center. He is currently a student of the Professional Master's Degree in Public Administration in National Network at the Federal University of Viçosa. He is also a civil servant at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, where he works as an Information Technology Analyst.

Custódio Genésio da Costa Filho, Federal University of Viçosa

PhD in Business Administration from UFLA (Federal University of Lavras). Master in Business Administration from FEAD BH-MG. Specialist in Strategic Information Management from UFMG (Federal University of Minas Gerais) and Electronic Commerce from the Izabela Hendrix Institute BH-MG. Graduated in Business Administration from UFLA. Adjunct Professor at UFV (Federal University of Viçosa - Campus Florestal), with experience in undergraduate and master's courses (Profiap Program).
