TRUST IN LEADERSHIP AND IMPACTS OF COMMITMENT

Abstract

The global Society and increasingly virtual relations generate distance in interpersonal relations, consequently, brings a multiplicity of variables in the social interaction in the work activities that complicate the understanding and management in organizational context. In this context the search for goals become more difficult, due to the higher intensity of exchanges and interpersonal relationships. These new conditions have been successfully met by leadership and its power to foster cooperation between people and groups, and besides to energize motivation. Leadership is a power built on interpersonal relationships, so trust emerges as a crucial variable in this production. Relations depend on trust for their developtment and sustenability. Without basic trust we lose the ability to trade wich is responsible for our eficacy e the sustenability of bussinesses. Studying the relationship between leadership and trust is the main objective of this Project. The reasearch was possible through a research with the purpose of evaluating how trust is built in the context of leadership relationships. This research was designed and carried out using the Q Methodology The results obtained on the Q Scale confirmed the relationship between trust and leadership. The results also allow to differentiate the empowering performances of trust between leaders and subordinates, and to detect the influence of commitment in this interaction.
