Abstract

The use of management practices aligned with the organization's strategy has the potential to improve organizational performance. However, the port environment has emphasized the operational aspect of the sector. In this sense, the aim of this article is to identify the characteristics of Performance Evaluation and Management Practices in the Port Sector, from a Constructivist perspective. This is a systematic literature review, guided by ProKnow-C. The analysis of the articles showed that the existing studies focus on port authorities and container terminals, and the use of social and environmental indicators is still little explored. The replication of models is frequent, without considering the characteristics that make the ports unique and that may not have been addressed in the literature, showing a misalignment of the assessment made in studies with the Constructivist concept of Performance Evaluation adopted. Therefore, the study contributed to the identification of research gaps that direct the studies to other port markets and the monitoring of the effects generated by the Performance Evaluation.
