Abstract

To discuss the experience of nursing students from the perspective of (in) visibility of nurses and their role in the care network of a patient with a disabling chronic disease. This is an experience report made by nursing students in caring for patients with Machado Josef's disease, based on the systematization of nursing care. It is noteworthy that the progression of the disease, associated with progressive clinical evolution, can be aggravated by the absence of a referral health service - neurology service - and assistance aimed at aggravating the chronic condition. Chronic degenerative neuropathy interferes with the construction and strengthening of bonds with support networks, due to the lack of autonomy and independence. In these cases, it is noted the importance of primary health care as an organizing agent of the support network to provide curative, promotional, rehabilitative and palliative actions to patients with chronic degenerative demands that directly interfere in the increase in quality of life.
