Abstract

The article discusses the construction of the legend of King Arthur as a tapestry of traditions and elements from different eras. Although there are efforts to find a historical Arthur, the legend can provide an opportunity for historians to understand how different periods have affected and changed the memorial tradition surrounding Arthur. The article examines historical moments marked by the publication of books and their contributions to the social imaginary related to the myth. The metho-dology used is a dialogue between memory studies and produced literature. The article concludes by introducing the concept of "Arthurianisms" as practices of literary memory that have traveled through ancient and medieval Europe.
