THE IMPORTANCE OF DEMOCRATIC SCHOOL MANAGEMENT FOR THE SCHOOL'S GOOD FUNCTIONING:
an analysis of the management of a municipal school of Campos dos Goytacazes
Abstract
The present work seeks to present what democratic management is and how it is beneficial for the good development of the school and students, based on a fieldwork carried out in 2019 at CIEP Pedro Álvares Cabral, located in the Municipality of Campos dos Goytacazes-RJ. Democratic management has become an issue of paramount importance in society, mainly including the school, students and employees who participate in this institution. Before 1996 little was discussed about this type of management. It is with Law No. 9394/96 that a model on the functioning of schools begins to add democratic management. Although we are still not sure whether this law has in fact been applied in the practice of all public schools in Brazil, we can say that mentioning this issue makes democratic management gain even more emphasis. Thus, the present article is a qualitative study, in which fieldwork was carried out in a Municipal school located in the City of Campos dos Goytacazes-RJ, in which I will address about its Political Pedagogical Project, as well as the its importance in education.
