A DIALOGUE WITH EDUCATION IN PANDEMIC TIMES
Abstract
This article aims to discuss Education and the indispensability of scientific knowledge and academic research, in times of difficulties caused by COVID-19 that both disturbs Brazil and the world. As a means of resolving contagion with this virus, the World Health Organization (WHO) and other sectors of society have indicated social isolation. With schools closed, Education also sought to adapt itself, seeking alternative modalities. This article also raises a reflection, when discussing the relevance of the role of training in Basic Education based upon the dignity of the human person. The text is justified by its novelty in approaching the mission of Education at this current serious situation, and by electing children as future guardians of the fundamental values necessary to build a more just and solidary society.
