Abstract

The finding that the school environment, in general, was not keeping up with the changes that society has been going through, can be considered a consensus. However, the recent events caused by the pandemic crisis of the COVID-19 virus have drastically affected this scenario. Due to the circumstances of social isolation, which profoundly affect the face-to-face education model, an emergency character for these changes was presented in an irrefutable way. Digital education, then, asks for passage to finally consolidate itself at the beginning of the 21st century. Given this context, this article proposes a reflection on possible advances, with regard to the implementation of interdisciplinary practices in basic education, which can occur through the forced and accelerated inclusion of digital technologies as mediators of the teaching and learning process.
