Abstract

The intention of this article is to reflect on the educational field, motivated by the concerns that the coronavirus pandemic brought to the world, especially to educators. Initially, the social, political and economic scenario during the pandemic is contextualized and the impasses that the closure of schools have caused are presented. The challenges, demands and opportunities revealed by the pandemic scenario are questioned. Then, school education and its relationship with technology is discussed, understood under the Vigotskian historical-cultural lens. Mankind was considered to transform the social world. In turn, education acts as a central agente in the transformation of future generations. It is concluded that the pandemic imposed a paradigmatic change on school education, which has its greatest point of support in digital technology and in the adaptability of teachers and managers.
