Abstract

This article aims to demonstrate what has been published in the national scientific literature, in the last 15 years, about the contributions of occupational therapy in inclusive education, through collaborative consultancies and the use of assistive technology as a therapeutic resource. For the survey of published articles, the descriptors "Occupational Therapy", "Collaborative Consulting", "Inclusive Education" and "Assistive Technology" were used. A search was carried out in the online journals in the field of occupational therapy and special education: Notebooks of Occupational Therapy at UFSCar, Journal of Occupational Therapyat USP and Brazilian Journal of Special Education, and 24 articles were selected. From the analysis of these articles, it was possible to verify that the occupational therapist contributes significantly to the process of school inclusion, by deconstructing exclusionary actions, acting as a facilitator of the social inclusion of students with special educational needs through expanded interventions for the infrastructure of the school, teachers, staff, families and other students.
