EDUCATIONAL VULNERABILITY IN PANDEMIC TIMES:

the situation of Minas Gerais State Schools and FUNDEB as possibility

Abstract

The present work has an main objective analyze educational vulnerability of the state schools of Minas Gerais due to the social isolation caused by COVID-19, as well as to point out the fundamental role of the basic education maintenance and development fund (Fundeb) as an important motivator of the impacts od COVID-19 on public education. There is an urgency to perceive technology as a concrete possibility in the teaching-learning process, and we found that today there is an unequal access to tools - television, cell phone and internet - among students from the state network of Minas Gerais, showing disparities. FUNDEB also acts as a mitigator of inequalities between educational institutions now and in the context of post isolation social in Brazil. That is why, more and more it is necessary to allocate funds directly towards education, with emphasis on the context of return to face-to-face classes.
