Abstract

This work presents reflections on the importance of playfulness for learning. Playing takes several forms, but it always results from the child's active involvement both individually and in interaction with other people. This process often appears not governed by rules, however, when it comes to learning, it is of utmost importance that it is oriented to achieve the desired goals. It is in play that the educator can assess the traits of learning, inhibitory control, cognitive flexibility, behavior in the face of frustration, in addition to assessing physical, mental, and emotional skills. This article was organized from bibliographic research and analysis data from evaluations that sometimes explored the playful and sometimes traditional processes.
