Abstract

The present article intends to make an investigation about the construction and the development of the “Plano de Desenvolvimento Individual - PDI” (Individual Development Plan). The PDI is a document that guides the teachers’ works for the inclusion of the “alunos com “Necessidades Educacionais Especiais - NEE” (Students with Special Education Needs) to learn at school. In this research the methodology used was the application of an online survey to obtain the comprehension of the parents, teachers, principals and schools coordinators of the Elementary Schools about the PDI. The results from this survey suggest that private and public schools  are still poorly prepared to develop the PDI although It is a student’s right and mandatory by law for the NEE education. However, the survey showed that a web/mobile solution will be helpful and well accepted for teachers who the tools will provide professional continued education and auxiliate in the PDI development and updates.
