BASIC EDUCATION IN PANDEMIC TIMES
Abstract
At the beginning of 2020, the world saw contamination for a virus that had not yet been vaccinated to protect human beings. Various measures have been taken to prevent the spread of the virus by countries around the world. Here in Brazil, home isolation was one of the measures adopted, in addition to increasing hand hygiene and other procedures to ensure the preservation of Brazilians. Several stores were closed and had to reinvent the way of delivering the service. Among the businesses prohibited from opening are schools that had to opt for remote education. The research carried out was a case study that used a form made by Google Forms and sent by WhatsApp and Facebook. 91 respondents were computed, among the five regions of Brazil, most respondents, about 82% or 75, were women; 83% or 76 of the respondents studied in private schools; the number of respondents between elementary school 1 (1st., 2nd. and 3rd. years) 34 or 31% of respondents, aged 6 to 9 years and in Elementary 2 (6th. 9th. Year) is balanced with children with 10 to 12 years old respondents who find the predominance of answers are from the Southeast region about 74% or 68 respondents. Among the strategies that respondents established to hire a private teacher is in the plans of 38 or almost 43%; most respondents adapted to non-face-to-face education, 57% or 51 of respondents and 46 or about 51% would wait a little or would not take their children to schools, if the return of face-to-face classes was authorized. The final considerations of the research were that most of the respondents sought to understand and adapt to non-classroom teaching, seeking to give greater autonomy to their children and to follow more closely, teaching the subjects to their children, aiming that children learn and not lose the school year.
