PROFESSIONAL CHOICE AND FUTURE PLANNING: EXTENSIONIST AWARENESS WORKSHOP WITH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS OF A PUBLIC SCHOOL

This article was carried out as an extension practice of the Professional Orientation course of the Psychology undergraduate course of the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais unit Betim. The work was carried out at Conselheiro Afonso Pena State Public School, located in the central region of the city of Betim, in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, with students from the 2nd year of high school, aiming to raise awareness of these young people about the various possibilities present in the process of professional choice. The awareness workshop was built through techniques and discussions, such as the “Name Story” and the “Plate Technique”, prepared by the extension group. From these techniques it was possible to promote a reflection about the process of professional choice, and the future planning of the students, and to realize the importance of Vocational Guidance in this moment.
