EVALUATION OF DEPRESSIVE FEATURES: IMPLICATIONS OF THE DEVOLUTIVE FOR THE EVALUATING WAY OF LIFE

The present study investigated the depressive disorder and the psychological evaluation process. More specifically, it sought to analyze the contribution of the devolution of the psych diagnosis process of an individual with depressive traits. For this purpose, a literature review was carried out in order to conceptualize depression, presenting its symptoms and explaining how psych diagnosis occurs, with focus on the return interview stage. It was also carried out semi-structured interviews with two psychologists, a psychology undergraduate student and two patients who went through the process of psych diagnosis and received a diagnosis of depression. The interviews were analyzed using Content Analysis. From the literature review, as well as the analysis of the reports collected in the interviews, it is understood that the return of interview is extremely important for the individual's adherence in a subsequent treatment, as well as for their own daily life. It is also highlighted the need of a good professional qualification and the understanding that no diagnosis can completely define the person being evaluated.
