THE CULTURE OF CANCELLATION IN VIRTUAL INTERACTIONS AS A PRACTICE OF INTOLERANCE

This article is the result of the research named “The culture of cancellation in virtual interactions as a practice of intolerance”. This is an exploratory, qualitative research that aimed to investigate the factors that mobilize the culture of cancellation in social networks. This work, in a condensed way, will theorize the process of sociability in digital social networks, as well as analyze the virtual subject and the phenomenon of intolerance present in the culture of cancellation in the social network Twitter. The theoretical framework was based on articles and book chapters, and data collection for analysis took place on news sites and screenshots of the aforementioned social network. Throughout the research, it will be discussed how the culture of cancellation presents itself as a practice of intolerance and how factors such as the form of sociability in digital social networks, the characteristics of the virtual subject and the structural particularities of the social network Twitter influence in the question.
