GENDER ISSUES IN JAIL INSTITUTION: A LOOK ON THE UNIVERSITY-CEREAL-COMMUNITY DIALOGUE GROUP PROJECT

Abstract

This article has as objective to discuss about the woman place in jail from gender issues emerging in the prison system, such as: social sanitation and incarcerations origin; sexuality and gender; maternity and sororiry x rivalry. A research based on the experience of the authors during the extension project Grupo de Diálogo Universidade-Cárcere-Comunidade (GDUCC), wich was realized with a group of women in jail situation, on the district of Ananindeua/PA. This is a qualitative study based on theoretical mapping from foucauldian and butlerian work and productions that cover the period of 2003 to 2019, achieved in digital platforms. The results show the control over the bodies that permeat the jail, as a totalitarian institution. The masculinizing prison system made invisible gender issues canceling these women as subjects, seeking to punish those women fails towards the penal and social law. The performativity of these bodies act finding stigmas crossed by cultures, socials and historic constructions, through issues of race, genre, etc. It was realized the creative mechanisms from imprisoned women during the (co) existence inside these context, where there sorority, at the head to rescue of partnership and empathy on the sharing of that wich own, although it is related inside and environment that enhance the rivalries. The sexuality experience arise as variant, demanding new forms of pleasure without necessarily search for a definition, have the reiteration of understood papers such as masculine and feminine in homosexuality couples, as the authority or violence exercise on a side and passivity, provider care of the other one. It is observed the relevance of tis research and mainly of the GDUCC Project, for beyond the search in contribute scientifically with the theorical apparatus already existence , the possibility of sharing and problematization of these places occupied by women in jail situation, underexposed by the State and society, calling this last segment to reflect about it.
