Abstract

In his works, Sigmund Freud not only addressed technical and theoretical issues for the consolidation of psychoanalysis as a science, but also produced writings on political and social themes, reflecting on issues that extended beyond clinical offices. Relevant themes to this day, such as the discomfort in culture, religion for the individual, and the beginning of thought on the oceanic feeling, which would be the "origin" of these previous issues and many others. This present work focuses on understanding how this feeling of vastness is linked to the process of structuring the Ego, and thus also present in an infantile need for protection from a grandiose father figure that gives meaning to helplessness.

Author Biography

Maria Eugênia Carvalho Morais, Universidade Professor Edson Antonio Velano

Undergraduate student in the final year of Psychology at José do Rosário Vellano University (UNIFENAS), focusing on the psychoanalytic approach. Academic activities:- Internship at the Psychology School Clinic, working on the practice of psychoanalytic approach and Neuropsychological rehabilitation. - Internship at the Toy Library of Alzira Vellano University Hospital, providing support to hospitalized children in pediatrics.- Participation in the extension project "Gender in Discussion", contributing to debates on equality and gender roles.- President of the Academic League of Psychosocial Care Arthur Bispo do Rosário, aiming to be an active member in the Anti-Asylum Fight and Psychiatric Reform. -Vice-president of the Academic League of Hospital Psychology, involved in initiatives to promote understanding of psychology in the hospital environment.- Coordinator of events at the Academic League of Psychology Applied to Chemical Dependency, with the aim of demystifying stigmas and contributing to a more humanitarian view towards the fight against chemical dependency.
