Abstract

This article aimed to analyze, based on the concept of ethical-political suffering, coined by Sawaia, if and how group practice enabled the increase of potency of the young's existence and the promotion of ethical-political health. The study was carried out with young people who enrolled for psychological care in a clinical school of a university in the interior of Minas Gerais. In ten meetings it was possible to perceive the affectations of young people in relation to the aspects that permeate their lives and how these aspects increase, decrease, favor or refract their potency to exist. The research results show that group practice increases the action potential of young people by promoting identifications, listening space and questions. In addition, it was configured as a space for affections and for the (re) meaning of experiences, as well as for the constitution of relationships that extended beyond that of encounters.
