Abstract

In this article we present an overview of the practices of Music Therapy in social and community contexts in Latin America. We structured the information by means of the realization of fifty nine interviews with Latin Americans music therapists and by participating in the daily work of some of them. In our process of information analysis, we highlight as thematic line the horizontally practices and non conventional practices on Music Therapy in Latin America. As from, we descant on about the different spaces, population portions and goals that have been referenced those practices, weaving a discussion about emancipatory experiences, from the Jacques Rancière propose. Finally, we argue that some of the practices that we could get to know on this research register themselves as dissensus notes on the conventionally set field of Music Therapy, contributing on this way for the widening of practices and theories possibilities on this knowledge field.
