Abstract

This article is a preliminary inventory of the usages of the concept of voice in Jacques Lacan´s oeuvre and in the works of some of his commentators and followers. The methodology we have used is based on the critical review of the available bibliography on the theme, in Portuguese, French, Spanish and English. In a fragment that was suggested to us by the research findings, we have divided the work in three sections. In the first one, we highlight the main contexts of use of the concept of voice in psychoanalytic praxis, such as, the clinic of psychosis and of autism and the metapsychologic discussions of the subjective constitution process, of moral consciousness and of musical fruition. The second section explores the semantic field in
which is inserted the Lacanian conception of voice. The third one discusses connections between the voice and related concepts, especially those of letter and lalangue.
