Abstract

The verb to compose is present in the different spheres of existence and can connect substances, sounds, living beings and ideas. Aware of its multiple possibilities, the objective of this study was to understand human existence as a complex process of composition, making use of an approximation between Philosophy, Art and Clinic. Adopting an interdisciplinary theoretical perspective and methodologically resorting to the documentary strategy, we find in musical art a concrete element to problematize the compositions of existence, making use of the testimony of composers of Brazilian Popular Music (MPB). The artists offered clues as to how musical composition can be allied to clinical practices, making them an open field of experimentation, contact with different temporalities, updated advances and setbacks in the production of ways of living. At the end of the study, we found the relevance of articulating distinct fields of knowledge in order to understand how human life can be allied to compositions in a pluralized and open way.
