Abstract

In this study, we will propose the discussion of the variables that are present in the relationship between culture and society, in which the influences are reciprocal. The discussion about Afrodescendant culture is necessary, given the composition of Brazilian society and its mixture of ethnicities. However, history shows us that the orientations of a European culture, the fruit of our colonization, have prevailed and still prevail. Divergences are important because they cause paradigm shifts, which is necessary, but requires caution.
