The relationship between the text and the extralinguistic aspects is permeated by six factors: the space-time framework, social and historical aspects, the participants in the communicative situation, types of activities carried out and their cultural capital. The objective of this work is to present the possibilities of working with Textual Production in the context of an undergraduate course in Electrical Engineering, experienced at the Federal University of Western Bahia, Multidisciplinary Center of Bom Jesus da Lapa. As a work proposal, criteria were established which directed the readings and textual productions to contents related to the undergraduate course in question. In this way, textual genres such as reports, articles, reviews, research projects and others served as a didactic tool for textual understanding, while also expanding and situating students in their academic universe. The literature that supported this work is mainly about textual linguistics as well as the articulation between sciences, in addition to the Pedagogical Project of the course and the teaching plan of the curricular component Workshop on Reading and Textual Production, which is intended for the work of textual linguistics in the mentioned undergraduate course. In this sense, the methodological procedures followed the guidelines of renowned authors such as Resende and Vieira (2014) and Elias and Koch (2015). From the guidelines described in the literature used, it was possible to awaken the student's interest in reading, even because the students were encouraged to read information related to their undergraduate course, and consequently, they expanded their horizon of knowledge and writing methods.
