A PARTICIPAÇÃO DO CONSELHO TUTELAR E DA FAMÍLIA NA GARANTIA DE UMA VIDA DIGNA PARA CRIANÇAS E ADOLESCENTES

Abstract

The meaning of being a children and teenager changes according to the space, time, and culture. Therefore, it is not surprising that the child was not always seen as someone who needs attention, care, and protection. Nowadays, the rights of children and teenagers are expressed in the Brazilian legal system, with the State, the family and society as a responsible institution for making them accessible to all infants. In this context, this article aims to identify the importance of the Guardianship Council and the family in ensuring a dignified life for children and teenagers. For that, the methodology used was the deductive, with the methods of historical and monographic procedures. The research technique used was bibliographic. The historical analysis is used in the first part of the article, which is about the changes in the concept of childhood over time. The second part of the work, as far as it concerned, focuses on the study of the character and attributions of the Council. In addition, the role of the family in the child-juvenile context is also discussed. The research problem, therefore, questions: what is the importance of the participation of this council and the family in the lives of children and teenagers? In the end, it is concluded that the family is characterized as the basis for the child´s socio-emotional formation and the Guardianship Council – despite having some deficiencies – is the facilitation body and guardian of the rights of infants, in the eagerness to protect and guarantee a good childhood.
