Abstract

The Museum of Contemporary Art of the 21st Century (2004) is among the most important projects of the SANAA office. The objective of the investigation was to analyze the formal and spatial composition explored in the creation of the Museum and to recognize to what extent its architecture fits into the evolutionary line of great international museums. The investigation was carried out using the topological analysis proposed by Juan Antonio Cortés (2012). The considerations sought to reflect on the duality between continuities and ruptures, by seeking to recognize maintenance and transformations in the formal composition and references used in the Museum project.
