Abstract

This article seeks to analyze the manifestation of neoliberalism in the contemporary Brazilian context, especially its reflections on recent labor legislation, including Labor Reform, the provisory acts that followed it and pandemic emergency legislation. The effects of these legislative changes on the labor market will be analyzed, starting from the paradigm of the centrality of work and considering its complex interaction with moments of crisis. Pierre Dardot and Christian Laval’s notions of neoliberalism as rationality, and David Harvey’s concept of flexible accumulation as the predominant form of socioeconomic regulation, are adopted as theoretical frameworks.
