Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • A contribuição é original e inédita, e não está sendo avaliada para publicação por outra revista; caso contrário, deve-se justificar em "Comentários ao Editor".
  • Os arquivos para submissão estão em formato Microsoft Word.
  • URLs para as referências foram informadas quando necessário.
  • O RESUMO de ARTIGO e sua VERSÃO EM LÍNGUA ESTRANGEIRA contem entre 150 e 200 palavras. Se for COMUNICAÇÃO, resumo contem entre 50 a 100 palavras.
  • O texto segue os padrões de estilo e requisitos bibliográficos descritos em Diretrizes para Autores, na seção Sobre a Revista.
  • A identificação de autoria do trabalho foi removida do arquivo e da opção Propriedades no Word, garantindo desta forma o critério de sigilo da revista, caso submetido para avaliação por pares (ex.: artigos), conforme instruções disponíveis em Assegurando a Avaliação Cega por Pares.
  • Para submissão de artigos das seções "dossiê", "temática livre" e "ensaios", exige-se a titulação mínima de mestrado. As seções "comunicações", "resenhas" e "traduções" estão abertas também para graduandos e mestrandos.
  • APRESENTAR MINIBIOGRAFIA, contendo titulação máxima e área, lugar de atuação profissional (se houver) e e-mail para contato.

Sapere Aude – PUBLICATION NORMS

FOR THE DEPARTMENTAL JOURNAL OF THE PONTIFÍCIA UNIVERSIDADE CATÓLICA DE MINAS FERAIS

INTRODUCTION

The goal of the departmental journal of the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais, which is published semi-annually, is to diffuse scientific-philosophical works that will contribute to philosophical reflection on a critical basis.

CRITERIA FOR THE SELECTION OF ARTICLES

To be published, submitted articles will be evaluated according to originality, scholarly quality and pertinence to the theme proposed by the editorial commission, and correct adjustment to the adopted editorial norms. Texts will be submitted to the evaluation (a blind-review) of competent referees. The content of articles and precision of the citations are the author’s full responsibility.

ACCEPTABLE LANGUAGES AND LENGTHS

The journal will accept articles not previously published in the following languages: German, Spanish, French, English, Italian and Portuguese. Texts should correspond to the  following two categories:

• Theoretical Articles from 10 to 15 pages in length;

• Reviews up to 4 pages in length.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMISSION

TEXT PREPARATION

The texts should be in Microsoft Word format, Times New Roman typeface, size 12 (titles in size 16), 1.5 spacing between lines, 3cm upper and left margins, 2cm lower  and right margins, A4 paper (210 x 297mm), “portrait” orientation. Pages should be numbered, including the title page, at bottom right. Microsoft Word’s “footnote” resource should be used only in relevant cases that do not fit the logical sequence of the text; all citations inserted in the text must be accompanied by the reference (AUTHOR, date, page number) of the work it was cited from. For example: (HORKHEIMER, 1988, p. 326). Complete bibliographical references should be listed at the end of the article.  The first page should contain: a) the title; b) the author’s name; c) academic details and institution of each author, as well as email for contact; d) an abstract and keywords. Book reviews must contain: the title of the book, city, editor, page numbers, author and translator’s names.

ABSTRACT AND KEYWORDS

Abstracts should be approximately 250 words, with 5 keywords.

CITATIONS

A. Free. Must be accompanied by the author’s last name and publishing date between parenthesis. i.e.: (SARTRE, 1988). Note: when two or more works from the same author and year are cited, the letter “a” should be included for the first work, letter “b” for the second, and so on. e.g. (MARX, 1964a) – (MARX, 1964b).

B. Secondary source citation (when inevitable): in the body of the text, cite authors and date (the latter only for the original’s citation work). e.g. ANDERSEN, apud MARX, 1968, p.23 or ANDERSEN, according to MARX, 1968, p.23.

REFERENCES

Bibliographical references should appear at the end of the article, in alphabetical order by last name. The references should follow the format below:

ABREVIATIONS

On first appearance, abbreviations should indicate in full the name they correspond to in the text. In following, the name in full should not be repeated. i.e.: Critique of Pure Reason: CPR.

EDITORIAL STAFF APPRECIATION

All works will be evaluated by the editorial staff, which will forward them to (ad hoc) peer-reviewers, according to the staff’s criteria. The staff reserves the right to point out necessary corrections to the works received and return them to their authors for proper adaptation to the journal’s norms. Authors will be notified of their articles acceptance or rejection. In the case of acceptance with a request for corrections, articles should be returned after review by their authors for re-evaluation within a 20 days deadline.

O editorial discute de forma original o âmbito filosófico, a abrangência, importância e aplicações do dossiê de cada volume da revista.   

ARTIGOS/ARTICLES: DOSSIÊ/DOSSIER

Os artigos do dossiê, sempre de cunho filosófico, discutem temas previamente escolhidos e que identificam o assunto central da revista em cada semestre. 

ARTIGOS/ARTICLES: ÉTICA E EDUCAÇÃO/ETHICS AND EDUCATION

Contemplar a pesquisa na área de ensino e educação com interface na ética. Para submissão nessa seção é necessária a titulação mínima de mestre.

ARTIGOS/ARTICLES: TEMÁTICA LIVRE/FREE SUBJECT

Aém dos artigos do dossiê, que obedecem a temas previstos e que intitulam o volume, há a seção de artigos de temática livre (para submissão de artigos do dossiê e temática livre é necessário a titulação mínima de mestre).

ENSAIOS/ESSAYS

A seção recepciona Ensaios filosóficos de autores já renomados no universo acadêmico e que muito contribuem com seus textos originais para a exposição de reflexão do conhecimento histórico da Filosofia.

ARTIGOS TRADUZIDOS/TRANSLATED ARTICLES

Seção dedicada a traduções para o português de artigos filosóficos não traduzidos

COMUNICAÇÕES/COMUNICATIONS

Informações sobre trabalhos apresentados em congressos e afins com temática livre. Seção aberta também para alunos de graduação e mestrandos.

RESENHAS/REVIEWS

Resenhas de publicações ou traduções clássicas no período de três anos. Seção aberta também para alunos de graduação e mestrandos.

DISSERTAÇÕES E TESES/DISSERTATIONS AND THESES

Divulgar dissertações e teses no âmbito filosófico apresentadas em instituições diversas para obtenção do título de mestre e/ou doutor.
