This paper seeks to present the scenario of the major world conferences against Racism, with a case study of the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, held in 2001, in Durban, emphasizing its impacts on the formulation and implementation of reparation policies in Brazil, through a constructivist approach. To this end, official documents of the event and the mechanisms created in Brazil between 2001 and 2011 are analyzed, envisioning a viable implementation of the actions planned during the event. The research findings demonstrate the remarkable commitment of the Brazilian delegation to this historic episode and its paradigmatic contribution to its successful outcome. This study reaches its expected results, creating communication channels between the knowledge propagated by the field of international relations and that of education, in favor of strengthening training for ethnic-racial relations in Brazil.
