Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching and learning materials that teachers and students can use, modify, and share freely and openly, fostering collaboration and innovation in education. This research aims to understand how Open Educational Resources (OER) are being explored in scientific research published in the Portuguese language. The research adopted the method of systematic literature review (SLR), using the CAPES Periodical Portal database as a source of reference. A total of 32 articles were selected, comprising the research corpus. This study revealed a limited number of articles in the Portuguese language addressing the topic, with the majority being predominantly theoretical studies. However, Open Educational Resources (REA) have been the subject of investigation in various educational areas and teaching modalities, particularly in the context of distance learning. Another identified factor was the low adoption of reusing Open Educational Resources (REA) for teaching, coupled with a lack of awareness among educators about where and how to find such resources on the Internet and adapt them to their teaching context. It is essential to continue investigating in order to valorize and promote their use in educational practice across various teaching modalities.
