MILTON NASCIMENTO AND THE LATIN AMERICAN MYSTIC OF LIBERATION

Abstract
The article glimpses what can be called a Latin American mystic of liberation in the work of Milton Nascimento. It starts with the relationship between the ideas of music, mystic, spirit and anima, and then grasps a possible aesthetic-religious experience of Milton Nascimento's work, moving in the field of the theology of culture. At the end, the song “San Vicente”, by Milton and Fernando Brant, is covered in more detail, thinking the conceptual questions raised throughout the text in its relation with the belonging to Latin America and the respective dream of a continent that inhabits the work of Milton Nascimento.
