PRINCIPLES, VALUES AND GUIDELINES OF THE SOCIAL DOCTRINE OF THE CHURCH IN CHAPTER VIII OF THE DOCUMENT OF APARECIDA

Abstract
The work aims to highlight the presence of the principles, values and main path of the Social Doctrine of the Church in chapter VIII of the Document of Aparecida (DAp), identifying from which sources they are taken and how they are assimilated in its argumentation. It analyzes documents and collects the numbers from chapter VIII where the principles, values and the path of charity appear, focusing on the preferential option for the poor, in light of the principle of the integral dignity of the human person. The result demonstrates a large presence of DSI bases in DAp. The clear option to preferentially love those who are a unique image of Jesus Christ deserves special emphasis. The DAp explains that we are all poor, that there are many suffering faces and that this is an exclusively economic issue. Thus, structural poverty reveals itself as a reflection of personal misery that contradicts our dignity as human persons.
