IDENTITY AND DEPRESSION IN TECHNOLOGICAL DEPENDENCE IN THE ADOLESCENT CONTEXT: AN ANALYSIS BASED ON ASSUMPTIONS OF EXISTENTIAL PHILOSOPHY

This study was carried out with the objective of understanding how the modes of subjectivation, identity and representation of contemporary adolescents are transformed by technology, discussing about the symptomatology of technological dependence and the ways in which each subject has to deal with these facets in their intrapsychic and social processes. Based on interviews conducted in a previous research project with adolescents from public schools in the metropolitan region of Betim, the article takes the explanatory research method to perform the analysis of the factors that link technology and the adolescent context, as well as content analysis qualitative analysis of interview data. Three main facets of the use of social networks were identified: the character of insertion; dependence and the intrapsychic aspects arising from the use of networks; the self-knowledge of this dependence, the affections of this in the life of the subject itself, and the absence of the search for the emancipation of it. In effect, we argue that technology, in its abusive use, gradually causes dependency, with approaches at the base of the psyche. We understand that the modes of dependence are diverse, and can be expressed both through depression, irritability, anguish, and so many behavioral organizations and psychological impacts, and that identity becomes a fluid process in this open network of relationships that is the technologies.
