Abstract

This article brings some issues about the contemporaneity, marked by a
kind of epidemic of violence and a pandemic of fear. It also highlights
that the production of this kind of fear becomes a device of domination,
that makes individualistic interests prevail, which undermine public space.
This direction of analysis is based on Hannah Arendt’s and Agamben’s
statements. At the end, it shows an experiment in a Public University in the
Southeastern Region of Brazil that turned into a strategy to face this state of
affairs, envisioning effectively public policies in the education field.
