o discurso como ferramenta de resistência na web

Abstract

In this article, we seek to understand how certain contemporary social movements appropriate the internet to combat prejudices, since Web 2.0 enables the development of digital activism, especially in the form of emerging discursive practices. At the turn of the 20th century to the 21st century, we entered a new era, that of Web 2.0, whose technological advances triggered changes in the ways of interacting socially and acting on others. Such changes can be observed in different spheres of social practice, such as political activism in the digital age and, more specifically, the anti-racist movement. Thus, with a view to analyzing these new language practices more effectively, discourse studies have adapted their theoretical-methodological devices, proposing new approaches and new categories of analysis, as demonstrated by the works of Paveau (2021) and Maingueneau (2015), among others. Based on notions proposed by these discourse scholars, as well as contributions from studies on digital activism related to (anti)racism, we aim to analyze some discursive strategies used in posts on the Alma Preta movement webpage, with emphasis on its multimodal dimension (verbvisual) as one of the characteristics of this form of technodiscourse. More specifically, we analyzed some posts that allude to the case of George Floyd's murder in the USA
