About the Journal

FREE ACCESS POLICY

This is an open access journal. Open Access is the condition in which the copyright holder of an academic work grants usage rights to others through an open license (Creative Commons or equivalent). This means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or their institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link the full texts of the articles, use them for indexing, process them as data in software, or use them for any other legal purpose, without asking for prior permission from the publisher or the author.

BLIND PEER REVIEW PROCESS

Scripta evaluates its articles using the Double Blind Review process. This procedure requires an evaluation by two reviewers without conflicts of interest with the submission's author. Therefore, it is mandatory for the author, in their submission, to ensure blind peer review process. Also, check our Ethical Commitments.

FEES
Scripta
does not charge the authors any fee related to submission and processing of manuscripts.

AIMS AND SCOPE

Scripta is a biannual, peer-reviewed journal, sponsored by the Graduate Program in Portuguese Language and Literatures, as well as the Centre for Lusophone Literary Studies at PUC Minas, having been rated as A2 by Brazilian QUALIS (Linguistics, Literature, and Arts). It aims to issue scientific papers and unpublished essays of recognized academic quality, as well as interviews of scholarly interest and recently published reviews, produced by local and international researchers in the areas of Lusophone Literatures and Linguistics. It publishes high quality articles written preferably by Brazilian or overseas doctors with effective scientific and academic contribution to the given areas. We accept written manuscripts in Portuguese, English, French, and Spanish.

SECTION POLICIES

Those interested in publishing in Scripta may submit their texts to any of the sections below:

  1. Thematic Forum: for items that meet specific themes, according to the intended call for papers;
  2. Free Sections: for texts related to studies of the areas to which the magazine is dedicated.
  3. Reviews / Book reviews: reviews of recently published books (maximum 3 years prior to the review publication date).
  4. Interviews with authors, researchers, critics, theorists, and teachers in the areas contemplated by the magazine.

Manuscripts to the Articles, Reviews, and Interviews sections are accepted on an ongoing basis through our online submission process. Articles for the Thematic Forum should observe the deadline in the given Call for Papers.

All papers must conform, first and foremost, to the checklist in the AUTHOR GUIDELINES, followed by the pre-assessment appreciation by an EDITORIAL TEAM member. Approved articles are then forwarded to two (2) ad hoc reviewers for evaluation (Double Blind Peer Review). Our team of reviewers is made up by experienced researchers in their expertise, who also have distinguishing academic background. Texts submitted to other sections undergo pre-assessment and evaluation by an Editorial Team member and, if approved, are referred to ad hoc reviewers.
