Abstract

The text is based on some fundamental works which help thinking on citizen education and the forming role of those who dedicate their work to that, with emphasis on the university, where this subject is often relegated to pedagogy courses, without being considered relevant by those dealing with the other disciplines. It is about honoring the Master from a reflection on this concept, conceiving it as guidance, guide and example, especially in counter times, when the defense of life and human rights requires a militant thought and a thinking militancy. On the one hand, the master appears as a decisive presence throughout the conviviality with his/her apprentices, but on the other, as someone who knows how to withdraw at the right time, allowing them to undertake their own flight.
