This text intends to present the poetry of Bénedicte Houart, who chose the Portuguese language to build his work with language, from a perspective of feminist studies and gender studies, in what both are familiar with. Sometimes using important procedures of irony, sometimes operating in a context of desecration of poetic saying, the poet will cross in her work, like some writers of her generation, a path that assesses the demands of women and women in the early years of the 21st century without stereotypes or crystallized mechanisms of poetic vocalization. To this end, we intend to read some selected poems from her work and check to what extent both gender and sexuality issues appear there, connecting her and often confronting her with a legacy of important writers such as Florbela Espanca and Adília Lopes .
