Abstract

The urbanization and capitalist movements caused the distance between the urban population and the origin of their food. Supermarkets reflect the view of food as merchandise and the emptying of social interactions – the "not places". This paper proposes a bibliographic survey of reflexive character about practices that connect the countryside-city spheres, bringing a debate about free fairs, public spaces and community projects. Issues that discourage rural exodus, such as the enhancement of family farming and co-operations, are also raised.
