A presente comunicação é um comentário ao livro Hegel, Haiti, and universal history da filósofa estadunidense Susan Buck-Morss. Trata-se de enfatizar, juntamente, com a autora o papel da Revolução Haitiana na obra Fenomenologia do espírito de G.W.F Hegel, principalmente, a parte que se refere a dialética do senhor e do escravo. Todavia, apontamos também a importância do Vodu como um fator histórico revolucionário e, ademais, com um papel de resiliência. Por fim, o intuito não é somente ler Hegel e o Haiti, mas um Haiti contra Hegel, a multiplicidade contra a identidade totalizante.
