Abstract

This article carries out an analysis of Capoeira as Culture and Educational Praxis, based on four elements, taken as founders in capoeira, which are: corporality, musicality, rituality and ancestry. Taking these four founding elements as formative instances and source of knowledge, an analysis is made of how they are transmitted to the youngest capoeiristas, based on a study compared between the styles of capoeira Angola and Regional. That said, we realize the wealth of knowledge and learning processes, which are behind and are necessary in the formation of capoeirista to build their identity and their formation as Being in the world. Thus recognizing the fundamental characteristics of capoeira, as culture and educational praxis, contributing to the discussion surrounding Afro-Brazilian culture, Education and Cultural Heritage.
