Abstract

This article analyzes the initiatives of PUC Minas at the Poços de Caldas campus, highlighting its strategic role in social and economic development and in addressing the climate emergency while promoting sustainable local development. Since its establishment in 1997, the university has acted as a transformative agent by integrating teaching, research, and outreach to foster innovative projects and environmental practices that positively impact the community. Campus infrastructure growth is accompanied by expanded green infrastructure and concrete actions in sustainable mobility and carbon offsetting. The relationship between university and territory reinforces a sense of belonging and commitment to building a just, inclusive, and environmentally responsible future, positioning PUC Minas as a catalyst for socio environmental change.
