Main Article Content
Abstract
This article brings the main data, and some interpretative hypotheses, about a first reading of the research “University generation: current profile. A case study” – which is sponsored by CNPq. This research was done through surveys performed between November and December, 2013, with students from PUC-Minas. Likewise, the goal is to present comparative data, when possible, because there were additions and changes in the questionnaire, with the report from the survey done in 1990, about the Profile of the Students from PUC-Minas Gerais. This was done to present a comparative overlook of two generations of students from this university: what has changed in 23 years? When revealing the changes and permanence in these students’ profile, this research offers data that helps know these young people better, indicating, thus, not only to the university, but also to people studying Higher Education and religion, the challenge of analyzing and deepening these themes. Some fundamental aspects of the Profile of the Students from PUC-Minas should be highlighted: general demographic data (age, place of birth, address, marital status, and family income), school and university records, religious and sociopolitical preferences, and sexuality and fertility.
