Buddhism as a non-religious spiritualty

Abstract

Buddhism proposes to access a view of reality that is separate from beliefs and all kinds of assumptions. To achieve this, Buddhism proposes a free research regarding the confinement of our thinking and feeling that are subject to the ego. The ego with its needs and desires provides an access to reality in us. What is proposed here is the liberation of this understanding so that reality may appear to us independent of the dictates of the ego form, i.e., an absolute access to it. The Buddhism is, therefore, a proposal of a non-religious spirituality, for which the same term would be inappropriate, because it is the basis of belief in "spirit." We see that the Buddhist message is very appropriate for today's society and also for those who are transitioning from an agricultural to industrial society, which leads to weakening of religious beliefs coming to dissolve them as well as for those who are close to or already enrolled in knowledge societies, innovation and continuous change whose mobility condition prevents beliefs because they are closed, thus resulting in the inability to have religion or spirituality
