Dietrich Bonhoeffer (1906-1945) was one of the most influential theologians of the late century. His influence goes beyond his denominational, geographical, and linguistic background. His work is studied by people from many different Christian traditions, not only Lutherans, by people from all five continents, not just his native Germany, and from a multitude of linguistic expressions and translations, not just in German. The year 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of his execution at the concentration camp in Flossenburg. To remember Bonhoeffer’s life and legacy, Horizonte, a peer-reviewed academic e-journal of the Graduate Department of Religious Studies of the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas (PUC Minas) in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, will launch a special issue, to be published in the last quarter of 2025. Articles in Portuguese, Spanish, and English will be welcomed, covering issues related to Bonhoeffer’s thought.
