Abstract
Desde a proclamação da República, no Brasil, houve mudanças nas relações entre o Governo Brasileiro e A Santa Sé, esta entendida na obra como o governo central da Igreja Católica. Quais as razões que levaram o governo da Igreja se interessar pela situação da Igreja no Brasil? A autora desvenda muitos dos caminhos pesquisando no arquivo secreto do vaticano.
