ETTY HILLESUM'S MYSTICISM interfaces with the Christian spirituality
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article is based on studies on mysticism and spirituality in the postmodern context. Mysticism has been a recurring theme in Religious Studies and Theology, because it opens the perspectives both for the existential dimension of faith and for interreligious dialogue. This article seeks an interface between Etty Hillesum's mysticism and Christian spirituality. Although Etty does not belong to any religious institution, her experience of God highlights essential aspects to any religious or spiritual tradition. For Christians, his mysticism engenders the rescue of decisive elements of the Christian experience: the discovery of God in interiority as the source of fraternal and universal love, indicating paths that help to overcome certain characteristics magical and superstitious who mark Christian spirituality and evangelization in Postmodern Age.
