Abstract

While religion is associated with the cultural drift - with ecumenical sharing and interreligious dialogue – overcoming the challenges that deserve discussion in our society, the spirituality is discussed and valorized by Theology, Religious Sciences, Human Sciences, Religions and Health. We have seen these concepts being used equivalently, bringing misunderstandings that can split both spirituality and religion from their real meanings. Considering the wide variety and complexity of definitions regarding to religion and spirituality, the great challenge of this paper is to discuss and show the importance of these concepts for the study of the relationship between health and spirituality.
