Abstract
O objetivo deste artigo é oferecer uma contribuição reflexiva sobre um tema central da antropologia bíblico-teológica: o ser humano como imagem de Deus. Para a antropologia veterotestamentária, Adão, criado à imagem Deus, está em permanente referência a Deus. A figura de Adão é reinterpretada cristologicamente. Cristo é a imagem de Deus por excelência. Adão estava orientado para Cristo. Antropologia da imagem de Deus encontra sua realização em Cristo. Na teologia patrística, é determinante esta visão cristológica da imagem de Deus. No entanto, há um oscilamento quanto à identificação cristológica (Verbo eterno ou Verbo encarnado?) e à localização antropológica (no corpo ou na alma?). A teologia medieval se distanciou da visão bíblica e cristológica, assumindo uma concepção mais trinitária, almificada e racional da imagem de Deus. A compreensão bíblico-teológica da imagem de Deus é retomada com o Concílio Vaticano II.
